District 2 has a rich history that dates back to the early days of San Antonio. From its roots as a farming community to its growth into a vibrant urban neighborhood, the district has seen many changes. It’s home to historic landmarks like the Alamodome and Dignowity Hill, which boast beautiful Victorian homes, and played a key role in the city’s civil rights movement.

Today, District 2 faces several challenges: crime rates higher than average, particularly in certain areas; economic disparities with limited job opportunities and underinvestment in local businesses; housing affordability issues with rising property costs threatening to displace long-time residents; aging roads and flooding issues that need urgent attention; and a need for stronger community representation.

As your City Council representative, I will prioritize public safety by increasing police presence and implementing community-based crime prevention programs, boosting economic growth by attracting new businesses and providing job training to residents, advocating for affordable housing policies that protect current residents and create new options, securing funds to repair roads and improve drainage systems, and ensuring every resident’s voice is heard at City Hall.

I believe that by working together, we can build a District 2 that is safe, prosperous, and inclusive for all. To learn more about how you can get involved, please visit vote4steph.com/contact.
